History Group
Chief Historian: Bronwyn Dalley
The History Group enhances access to and understanding of New Zealand's history and cultural heritage by providing enlightening, stimulating insights into our past. It specialises in histories of state activity (specifically the interaction between and government and society, the role of the state in various policy areas, and histories of government agencies), war history, and other histories of national significance. In addition, the Group administers awards and grants for historical research, and runs regular public seminars on historical topics.
