Drug Free Sport New Zealand
Drug Free Sport NZ was established under the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Act 1994, and is continued by the Sports Anti-Doping Act 2006. DFSNZ's mission is to provide a sporting environment free of banned doping methods for New Zealand sport and athletes. Its role is to carry out sports drug testing of competitors within and outside New Zealand , implementing sports drug sampling and testing measures in accordance with the legislation and the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code, and providing education on the use of drugs and doping methods in sport.
DFSNZ is an Independent Crown entity under the Crown Entities Act 2004 and is fully funded by the Crown. The Minister for Sport and Recreation is answerable in Parliament for the funding, performance and actions of the Board.
