Masonry parapet collapses onto street canopy, which fails and falls onto footpath along with parts of parapet.

Potential structural strengthening project

Structural steel frame (portal frame) is fitted under the canopy with legs supported on the footpath. Frame to support canopy under the weight of falling masonry.

Possible first steps with a structural engineer

They assess the structural capacity of the canopy and provide specifications for the steel frame.
