Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau, 1869-1960

Kua tāia tēnei pukapuka hiko, Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau, 1869-1960, e te Manatū Taonga i te 4 o Hōngongoi 2011 hei whakanui i te Wiki o te reo Māori. Kei tēnei pukapuka ngā wāhanga katoa o Ngā Tangata Taumata Rau.

Ko te wāhanga tuatahi o Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau i tāia i te tau 1990. Ko tēnei tētahi o ngā mahi whakanui i te 150 tau o te hainatanga o Te Tiriti o Waitangi. E rima ngā wāhanga o Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau i tāia.

Ko ngā haurongo katoa o Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau kei runga i te ipurangi, ko tōna tohu ko www.dnzb.govt.nz. I tēnei wā he wāhanga Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau nō Te Ara, Te Mātāpunenga o Aotearoa (www.TeAra.govt.nz).

This e-book, Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau, 1869-1960, has been published by Manatū Taonga, Ministry for Culture and Heritage on 4 July 2011 to celebrate Māori language week.  This book contains the Māori language biographies from all published volumes to date. 

The first volume of Ngā Tāngata Taumata Rau was published in 1990.  This was done to celebrate the 150th centennial of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.  Five volumes of Māori language biographies were published in total with the final publication being in 2000.
