Scope

Provision of purchase advice and monitoring of Sport New Zealand and Drug Free Sport New Zealand, including advice in relation to appointments to boards.

What we delivered

This output contributes to the following sector priorities (described in more detail on page 9):

  • Fostering inclusive New Zealand identity
  • Supporting Māori cultural aspirations

  • Improving cultural asset sustainability
  • Measuring and maximising public value.

During 2015/16, we:

  • Provided advice and support for board appointments to Sport New Zealand, Drug Free Sport New Zealand, the Sports Tribunal of New Zealand and the Eden Park Trust Board.
  • Provided advice on the performance of Sport New Zealand and Drug Free Sport New Zealand.
  • Managed successful bids for new funds in Budget 2016 for Drug Free Sport New Zealand and, with Sport New Zealand, for High Performance Sport.
  • Advised and assisted portfolio Crown-funded agencies.
  • Improved assessment of the performance of Crown-funded agencies.
