National anthems

Published 26 February, 2013 by Editor

New Zealand is unique for having two national anthems of equal standing - God Defend New Zealand and God Save The Queen. Both were inspired by patriotism, yet written in very different circumstances.

YouTube clip featuring the New Zealand National Anthem in New Zealand Sign Language, Māori and English.

In this section you’ll find the words for both anthems along with sound files, musical scores, and information on the anthems’ protocols and history.
