Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand

Te Ara, the award-winning online encyclopedia of New Zealand, will be a comprehensive guide to this country's natural environment, history, culture and development. The first of three themes are now online.. A 'Places' section currently features nine entries on regions of New Zealand (of the 22 planned). Also the 1966 Encyclopaedia of New Zealand has been digitised and made available through Te Ara. This site run by the Ministry for Culture and Heritage.
