This event is one of a series of film screenings for Mana Māori Motuhake Māori Rights and Representation.The 1997 documentary Radicals, directed by Paora Maxwell, looks at modern Māori political activism over two decades from the 1970s to 1990s in Aotearoa. Featuring Māori rights activists Syd Jackson, Hone Harawira, Ken Mair, Mike Smith, Annette Sykes, Eva Rickard and Joe Hawke. The interviewees discuss events and the kaupapa behind their activism, as well as the topics of sovereignty, the Treaty of Waitangi, and the environment.
