The Minister for Sport and Recreation is calling for expressions of interest for the role of Chair of the Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui Board – a rare opportunity to help shape the future of sport and recreation integrity in Aotearoa New Zealand. 

Leauanae Laulu Mac Leauanae, Tumu Whakarae Secretary for Culture and Heritage, says the Chair will “lead the Board of this newly established Crown entity, guide its strategic direction and ensure it delivers on its mission to make sport and recreation in New Zealand safer, fairer, and worthy of public trust. This is a high impact leadership role at the heart of a sector that inspires millions of New Zealanders.” 

“Ideal candidates will bring extensive governance experience, proven board leadership capability, and a strong understanding of the public service environment. Political awareness, integrity, and a commitment to stewarding the public interest are essential.” The Sport Integrity Commission, established under the Integrity Sport and Recreation Act 2023, plays a vital role in strengthening trust and fairness across New Zealand’s sport and recreation system.
