You can hold community events at Pukeahu if they are non-commercial and respectful.

Suitable activities include:

  • Recreation activities and gatherings
  • Cultural events
  • Performances
  • Tours
  • Educational events
  • Commemorative community events.

Event guidelines

Pukeahu is a sacred place with national and international significance. Event guidelines help ensure your activity is safe and respectful.

Event zones

  • Zone one: Eastern Terraces
    Terraced gardens including the Pacific, Belgium, and US memorials. Event power available from the Education Centre.
  • Zone two: Anzac Square/central park
    
Central area with grass spaces, the Turkish Memorial, pavilion, and public facilities. No commercial food or drink in Anzac Square.
  • Zone three: Western Terraces
    Includes the French Memorial and pavilion. Near the busy Taranaki Street – follow health and safety requirements.
  • Zone four: National War Memorial
    Covers the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, Carillon Tower, and Hall of Memories. This area is wāhi tapu (sacred) and is for commemorative events only.
  • Zone five: Hall of Memories
    
Indoor space honouring New Zealanders who served and died in conflict. Capacity 120.
