Media release — 17 April, 2026 Oranga Tamariki is looking for suppliers who can design and deliver high‑quality structured programmes that support the wellbeing, development, and positive identity of tamariki and rangatahi in residential settings.Youth Justice Services and Residential Care operate secure residences across New Zealand for tamariki and rangatahi in care and protection, and youth justice settings.There is a need for programmes and activities to be delivered consistently across residences, including during both school terms and school holidays, to enhance wellbeing and support positive residential experiences.Oranga Tamariki are especially encouraging creative organisations to apply. Evidence shows that engaging in creative activities can improve wellbeing, confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills.
